strive physical therapy
Strive Physical Therapy is a medical office building that houses separate areas for the five different types of physical therapy: geriatric, pediatric, cardiopulmonary, orthopedic, and neurological. Each interior area of Strive has individual features in order to meet the needs of its particular specialty as well as extensive floor space for patients to complete stretches and specific workouts for their treatments. To keep the entire building cohesive, the color scheme throughout is white, soft grays, and pastel green. This enforces healing, growth, and cleanliness. In keeping with the curative theme, there is a water feature on each floor to offer a soothing presence for patients.
Research
Strive Physical Therapy was based on extensive research. The Neurological area of Strive, especially targets alleviating stress and mental fatigue. To achieve this, the space will include materials that are soothing to the tactile sense, offer auditory stimulus through music, natural noises, silence, etc., utilize visually simple geometric shapes that are familiar to the brain, and contain plants to improve air quality.

acoustics
It was imperative to include a large space in the Strive floorplan to house the treatment room. This space is essential for physical therapy patients to complete assisted workouts and kinesthetic movements to increase their range of motion and overall recovery. This expansive open space created unique design opportunities in regard to acoustics. Therefore, much acoustical and noise reduction research went into planning the layout for this room as well as specifying flooring and ceiling materials.

As seen in the floor and ceiling plans for the treatment room, the resilient flooring and acoustical ceiling materials for both make a pattern that is mirrored by each other to ensure continuity throughout the room.
This mirroring of the pattern in the floor and ceiling plans is a technique that was also implemented in the facility's lobby.
